Step 1 Warm up

Watch a video before class:《Ocean animals》

Talk freely

T：What’s this song about? What sea animals do you know?

Step 2 Learn about the story

Get to know the cover

 Students observe the cover and answer some questions.

 Q1: What can you see from the cover?

  Q2: What do you want to know about the story?(Who? Where? When? How? )

  Q3: What does “fun” really mean?

Learn Scene One (P4-5)

  Students read and and find:

  Q1：Who are they ?  

  Q2: Where did they do ? (Watch a video about the Great Barrier Reef)

（1）Read and answer(快速浏览9~18页)

Q：What sea animals did they see?

Learn “angelfish, octopus, swordfish, shark, coral reefs, seahorse”

（2）Know about the angelfish

T: What are those？

S: They’re angelfish.

T: Do you like them? Why ?

S: Yes, I do. Because they are cute/beautiful/lovely/colorful···

T: Do you want to take them home? (angelfish: cute, difficult to keep at home)

Tips: 适合水温：26度~32度，对水质的要求很高哦！

（3） Know about the octopus

②Introduce and say: It's··· It has··· It can···.It···.

③What aspects are mentioned? appearance &feature

（4） Know about the swordfish and sharks

Ss read P13~P14 and try to introduce the swordfish and the sharks. （两人一组，选择其中一种鱼，结合自己的观察与了解，尝试介绍）

（5） Know about the coral reefs

T: When they saw the shark. Look, they were afraid. But look at this picture. Are they afraid now?

S: No. They are happy.

S: They saw coral reefs.

T: Are coral reefs animals or plants？(watch a video about it)

（6） Know about the seahorses

T: Then what didi they see？
